For a long time, NVIDIA has focused on the visualization of large data sets, such as emanating from climate and weather simulation, and collaborated with climate scientists throughout the world. It announced Earth2 at GTC in 2021, to frame its engagement in this space. Since then, NVIDIA has worked not only to enhance the visualization efficiency of various climate simulation output, but also worked to increase the efficiency of climate and weather models themselves using artificial learning techniques. NVIDIA Earth2 is a platform for visualization, data aggregation and accelerated AI-simulation, able to combine simulated and observed/measured data. Although this talk will primarily focus on the effective visualization of HPC (climate/weather) simulation data, it also touches NVIDIA's work in the area of AI assisted simulation and super resolution.
